Roero is located north of Alba, while the Langhe is mostly south. The name derives from a powerful local family of bankers and traders who dominated the area during the Middle Ages. The appellation comprises twenty townships, all in the province of Cuneo. The appellation covers Roero Rosso from Nebbiolo – a red blend that shows surprisingly forward harmony and balance yet excellent cellar life – and Roero Arneis, an appealing, fresh and floral white.
