On the slopes of an extinct volcano called Vulture, you will find Basilicata’s noblest red: Aglianico del Vulture. In the upland portion of the Potenza province, the microclimate is ideal for top growths, with excellent ventilation from the northeast and a temperature variance – even in the summer months – between 8 °C/46.4 °F at night and 30 °C/86 °F in the daytime.
