Pietradolce | Sant’Andrea Bianco IGT | 2019 | James Suckling | 24/08/2023 | 94
VerbiageMedium gold hue. A hint of lemon curd and toast to the minerals and pineapple. Nicely phenolic and structured on the palate with bright acidity and some firm tannins. Full-bodied, long and very energetic. Carricante. Delicious now, but can hold, too. |

Pietradolce | Etna Rosso DOC | 2022 | James Suckling | 24/08/2023 | 92
VerbiageGrapefruit, fresh cranberries and mineral on the nose. Fresh and almost tangy on the palate with zesty citrus and a firm backbone of tannins. Nicely grippy and structured. Drink in a year or two. |

Marcarini | Moscato d’Asti DOCG | 2022 | James Suckling | 15/08/2023 | 90
VerbiageThis is floral with notes of jasmine, orchid blossom, sliced apples and dried herbs. Medium-bodied, fresh and cheerful. Medium sweet and creamy. Drink now. |

Pietradolce | Archineri Etna Rosso DOC | 2020 | James Suckling | 12/08/2023 | 93
VerbiageRipe, savory nose for an Etna Rosso with lots of orange peel, white pepper, cloves and tangerines. Some stones and sage, too. Tight and full-bodied with a mineral texture that lightly coats the palate. Broad-shouldered tannins with a long, mineral finish. Drink or hold. |

Pietradolce | Feudo di Mezzo Etna Rosso DOC | 2020 | James Suckling | 12/08/2023 | 94
VerbiagePale to medium ruby-garnet hue. A very mineral nose with crushed stones, iron, some bitter oranges, wild herbs and savory berries. Huge tannins and high acidity on an austere palate with a full body and a mineral-driven finish. Lots of bones and tension here, but no heft. Drinkable now, but better in two years. A mineral and more Barolo-like Etna Rosso. |

Franz Haas | Sofi Muller Thurgau Vigneti delle Dolomiti IGT | 2022 | James Suckling | 08/08/2023 | 90
VerbiagePretty aromas of lemon verbena and stony minerals follow through to a medium-bodied palate where the lemony element provides fresh and crisp flavor and the minerals add some structure. Super clean. Drink now. Screw cap. |

Castello di Querceto | Cignale Colli della Toscana Centrale IGT | 2019 | James Suckling | 08/08/2023 | 94
VerbiageChili chocolate to the ripe berries, red cherries, plums and fine olives. This is juicy and refined on the palate with tightly knit tannins and a complex and lengthy finish. A lot to like here now. Cabernet sauvignon and merlot. Already very approachable, but will keep well in the next six to seven years. |

Le Casematte | Faro DOC | 2021 | James Suckling | 07/08/2023 | 91
VerbiageGilled orange, tar and berry aromas follow through to a medium body, with firm tannins and an attractive length. Firm and silky textured. Drink now. |

Private: Boscarelli | Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva “Sotto Casa” DOCG | 2019 | James Suckling | 07/08/2023 | 95
VerbiageThis has a rather glossy, deep ruby hue and the orange tinge is not even developed yet. Very youthful and a lot less savory than most of the Boscarelli offerings showing the usual mineral attraction, but this comes with a little more fruit, spices and even plushness. Deep cherry, plum, mussel and oyster shell characters on the nose follow through to a full-bodied palate drenched with firm, chalky tannins. The impressive structure ends in a neat, mineral finish. Almost a bit embryonic now despite its more eclectic and probably less traditional style. Wait two to three years before opening the bottle. Should keep very well in the next 10-15 years. |

Private: Boscarelli | Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva “Costa Grande” DOCG | 2019 | James Suckling | 05/08/2023 | 95
VerbiageStony nose despite its richness. Lots of savory berries, citrus, tar, mineral, dark spices and some black tea. Almost full-bodied with a mouthful of chalky tannins crumbling on the palate, leaving a tight and comfortably austere finish. Drinkable now, but better from 2025. |
