Fuligni Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2010 Vinous 17/02/2015 94
Verbiage

“The 2010 Brunello di Montalcino is all about balance. Remarkably seamless for a young Brunello, the 2010 is also quite expressive and open at this stage, which is one of the signatures of the vintage. Bright red stone fruits, wild flowers and cinnamon are all given an extra kick of intensity and focus from the high acidity of the year. This is a terrific showing from Fuligni. 2016-2030” – Antonio Galloni, Vinous, February 2015

Fuligni Brunello di Montalcino Riserva DOCG 2010 Vinous 17/02/2015 95
Verbiage

“The 2010 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva is quite a bit darker and more powerful than the regular bottling. Dark stone fruits, wild flowers and spices open up gradually in the glass. Hints of menthol, sage, tobacco and lavender follow, adding the final layers of nuance on the deep, fleshy finish. There is plenty to look forward to. The Riserva emerges from the estate’s oldest vines and is aged predominantly in cask. There is plenty to look forward to. 2018-2030” – Antonio Galloni, Vinous, February 2015

Fuligni Rosso di Montalcino Ginestreto DOC 2013 Vinous 17/02/2015 90
Verbiage

“Fuligni’s 2013 Rosso di Montalcino Ginestreto is gorgeous. The flavors are bright, focused and nuanced throughout. Sweet red cherry, blood orange, cinnamon and flowers race from the glass in a nuanced, silky Rosso endowed with tons of near term appeal. I tasted the 2013 from the tank just before bottling. 2015- 2021” – Antonio Galloni, VInous, February 2015

Fuligni Rosso di Montalcino Ginestreto DOC 2012 Vinous 17/02/2015 90

“A voluptuous, bold wine, the 2012 Rosso di Montalcino Ginestreto captures the personality of this warm vintage in spades. Sweet red cherries, hard candy, flowers and spices blossom in the glass. 2015-2020” – Antonio Galloni, Vinous, February 2015

Conti Costanti Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2010 Vinous 17/02/2015 97
Verbiage

“Costanti’s 2010 Brunello di Montalcino is stunning. Dark, powerful and mysterious in the glass, the 2010 captivates all the senses with its breathtaking beauty and layered, multi-dimensional personality. Lavender, violets, savory herbs, smoke, plums and graphite flow through to the rich, explosive finish. There is a prism-like sense of transparency allied to pure power in the 2010 that is impossible to miss. Readers who can find the 2010 should not hesitate; it is a musthave. While many 2010s are approachable today, the Costanti’s 2010 is not; it is a wine for the cellar. 2018-2035” – Antonio Galloni, Vinous, February 2015

Conti Costanti Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2009 Vinous 17/02/2015 94
Verbiage

“The 2009 Brunello di Montalcino is every bit as beautiful as it was last year, although it has become quite brooding over the intervening months. Dark, ample and broad, the 2009 boasts superb intensity and balance. The 2009 naturally doesn’t quite have the delineation or vibrancy of the very best vintages, but it is impressive just the same. Best of all, the 2009 is round and sensual to the core, two qualities that make it incredibly delicious today. 2016-2029” – Antonio Galloni, Vinous, February 2015

Conti Costanti Rosso di Montalcino DOC 2013 Vinous 17/02/2015 92
Verbiage

“The 2013 Rosso di Montalcino is all class. Dark red cherries, plums, menthol, cloves, lavender and violets jump from the glass in an energetic, vibrant Rosso loaded with class and pedigree. Brisk saline notes give the finish an extra kick of energy. I tasted the 2013 from tank the day before bottling. 2015-2025” – Antonio Galloni, Vinous, February 2015

Conti Costanti Rosso di Montalcino DOC 2012 Vinous 17/02/2015 91
Verbiage

“Costanti’s 2012 Rosso di Montalcino captures the ripeness and raciness of the year in its voluptuous personality. Sweet red cherries, spices, mint, wild flowers and anise form a highly appealing fabric of aromas and flavors. The 2012 is voluptuous and ripe to the core, two of the signatures of this intriguing vintage. 2015 2022” – Antonio Galloni, Vinous, February 2015

Speri Amarone della Valpolicella Classico “Sant’Urbano” DOCG 2010 Wine Advocate 01/02/2015 93
Verbiage

“Speri’s gorgeous 2010 Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Vigneto Monte Sant’Urbano is what many red wines of Valpolicella aspire to be. The balance here is close to impeccable and given the unpredictable nature of appassimento (air-drying of fruit) this is no small feat. Amarone Classico Sant’Urbano shows outstanding depth and character, with beautifully preserved aromas of red fruit, prune, spice, licorice and grilled herb. I’d suggest opening this bottle three to five years from now. I was greatly impressed with the new releases from Speri this year. The wines from the Sant’ Urbano vineyard proved exceptional. Some of the best wines of the Valpolicella today are coming out of this site.” – Monica Larner, Wine Advocate, Feb. 2015

Speri Valpolicella Classico Superiore “Ripasso” DOC 2012 Wine Advocate 01/02/2015 91
Verbiage

“The 2012 Valpolicella Classico Superiore Ripasso is one of best Ripasso expressions of the vintage. This is an outstanding effort with a deep and unyielding sense of juiciness and freshness that you don’t often see in Ripasso. Plum and fresh prune segue slowly to raisin and dried currant. Spice, leather and tobacco round off the finish. The tannins are also more defined and structured than you usually see in Ripasso. I was greatly impressed with the new releases from Speri this year. The wines from the Sant’ Urbano vineyard proved exceptional. Some of the best wines of the Valpolicella today are coming out of this site.” – Monica Larner, Wine Advocate, May 2015
