Il Feuduccio | Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo DOC | 2014 | Vinous | 01/06/2015 | 90
Verbiage“Amber-tinged rosé. Fresh aromas of red berries, orchard fruits and herbs. Clean, fresh red berry flavors show a distinctly saline nuance. Finishes tactile and long. I know this is bottled in clear glass so the wine’s pink color is obvious for all to see, but I couldn’t find the word rosato anywhere on the bottle. I might be wrong, but it seems to me that labeling this wine as Carignano del Sulcis only (normally a red wine) is likely to confuse people.” – Ian D’Agata, Vinous, June 2015 |

Cantina Santadi | Tre Torri Carignano Del Sulcis Rosé DOC | 2014 | Vinous | 01/06/2015 | 90
Verbiage“Dark pink, almost red in color. Initially reduced nose opens with aeration to offer deep aromas of red berries, minerals and herbs. Nicely textured Cerasuolo with good weight to its ripe red berry and floral flavors. Finishes bright and long. Once you start with this, it’s hard to put the glass down.” – Ian D’Agata, Vinous, June 2015 |

Fantini | Piano del Cerro Aglianico del Vulture DOC | 2010 | Wine Advocate | 01/05/2015 | 90
Verbiage“The 2010 Aglianico del Vulture Piano del Cerro is packaged in a heavy glass bottle and boasts massive aromatic intensity to match that symbolic weight and heft. The bouquet shows rich tones of spicy tobacco, Spanish cedar, vanilla bean, nutmeg and cinnamon. The fruit tones are buried far under and show with difficultly. What you do get resembles prune and dried blackberry. The tannins are extra firm and sweet. They appear more shaped by the oak than they are the grape. Here’s a fun fact: The little spider on the label pays tribute to the cult of the tarantula that is celebrated in local Pizzica music and folklore.” -Monica Larner, Wine Advocate, May 2015 |

Fantini | Pipoli Aglianico del Vulture DOC | 2013 | Wine Advocate | 01/05/2015 | 88
Verbiage“The 2013 Aglianico del Vulture Pipoli is oak-heavy and youthful in terms of its fruit. This young wine shows moderate complexity and depth with one-dimensional tones of black cherry, dried blackberry, cinnamon, toasted espresso and campfire ash. It exhibits good tannic structure and fresh acidity that makes it the proverbial steak or grilled sausage pairing partner. This entry-level Aglianico del Vulture offers a steady, honest drink.” – Monica Larner, Wine Advocate, May 2015 |

Fantini | Pipoli Greco-Fiano Basilicata IGT | 2014 | Wine Advocate | 01/05/2015 | 88
Verbiage“The 2014 Greco Fiano Pipoli is an all-Lucano blend of the two white grapes that have made neighboring Campania one of the greatest white wine regions on the planet. This is a beautifully fragrant and tonic expression with aromas of citrus, cut sage, pear and almond blossom. The integrity and freshness of the bouquet makes this an irresistible wine, especially if paired with sushi or light lunchtime salads.” – Monica Larner, Wine Advocate, May 2015 |

Il Feuduccio | Montepulciano D’Abruzzo Fonte Venna DOC | 2012 | Vinous | 01/05/2015 | 91
Verbiage“Deep ruby. Floral dark berries, tar and underbrush on the enticing nose. Bright and juicy on the palate, with flavors similar to the aromas. This lovely, well-balanced Montepulciano d’Abruzzo picks up an inky nuance with air and is nicely lifted and extended at the back by fresh acidity. Half of the total blend was aged in stainless steel, the other half in large oak barrels.” – Ian D’Agata, Vinous May 2015 |

Verbiage“A dense and velvety red with lots of chocolate, berry and spice character. Hints of mushroom too. Full body. Chewy and rich finish. Needs four to five years to soften. Great richness. Wonderful Cannubi.” – James Suckling, Apr. 2015 |

Le Casematte | Faro DOC | 2012 | Wine Enthusiast | 01/04/2015 | 94
VerbiageEditor’s Choice “A blend of Nerello Mascalese, Nerello Cappuccio, Nocera and Nero d’Avola, this polished wine conveys earthy aromas including violet, ripe berry, leather, game and baking spice. The savory palate doles out juicy black cherry, ripe raspberry, licorice, cinnamon and clove alongside firm, fine-grained tannins. Drink 2016–2020.” -Kerin O’Keefe, Wine Enthusiast, Apr. 1, 2015 |
